OUR HISTORY

Following the passionate ambition of our Founders in creating positive change and landmark in Myanmar’s higher education sector, Myanmar Imperial College has been established as the very first private leading College of Myanmar since the year ‘2004’ with the initial capital investment of US$2,000 founded by Myanmar citizens, U Phyo Maung Maung and Daw Poht Poht Kyi. Although it was commenced with only 4 students in the beginning, the College presently has a close-knitted network of 4,000 graduates and more than 1,400 registered students studying at the College.

With the intention of positively contributing to further developments of the country and society; the academic philosophy of Myanmar Imperial College solely focuses on providing academic excellence and highly- supportive learning environment for the students. The programmes range from Bachelor to Doctorate Programmes in Business Management, Marketing Management, International Tourism Management, and Executive Diploma Programmes in strong collaborations with Pearson (UK) , the University of Northampton (UK) and Boltan (UK).

Our College was initially established as Unique Life Education Center (ULEC) in the year ‘2004’ with the initial capital investment of US$2,000 and 4 students by our beloved Founders, U Phyo Maung Maung and Daw Poht Poht Kyi. In the year 2012, our College is re-established under the former name of Myanmar Imperial College (MIC) at the Inya Campus.

In the year 2018, our College successfully acquired the College status and we are currently known as Myanmar Imperial College (MIC), the very first private leading College in Myanmar, aiming to create positive change and landmark in Myanmar’s higher education sector. Our College presently has a close-knitted network of more than 3,200 graduates and more than 1,400 registered students who are currently studying at our College.

OUR MILESTONES

  • MIC was founded in 2004 and is regarded as the very first leading private College in Myanmar with the initial start-up capital of US$2,000, by two young entrepreneurs who are inspired to contribute to the developments of the country for the better.
  • MIC offers three different Graduate Degree Programmes specialized on the topics and study fields such as Business Management, Leadership, Hospitality & Tourism, and Marketing & Branding.
  • MIC proudly participated as an academic sponsor for organizing Philip Kotler’s “Myanmar Marketing Forum 2014” in Myanmar.
  • In 2015, a new U-Wisara campus with the investment of USD 3 million-worth campus facilities was launched for the students of MIC.
  • MIC’s students had achieved the Pearson Outstanding Learners Awards for five consecutive years, from the year 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, consecutively.
  • In 2015, MIC launched the very first Doctorate Programme of Business Administration in collaboration with the University of Northampton (UK) for Myanmar business entrepreneurs.
  • Established in 2014, MIC Futsal Club has consecutively achieved Championship Awards from the year 2014 to 2019 in MFF (Myanmar Futsal Federation) respectively.
  • MIC Futsal Club has won the 1st Runner UP and Fair Play Award in AFF (Asian Futsal Federation Championship) from 2016 to 2019, consecutively.
  • In January 2018, Myanmar Imperial Research Association (MIRA) was established in order to promote evidence-based research culture in the organizational developments of Myanmar.
  • In 2019, one of MIC students had achieved the first-ever BRONZE Award for International Pearson Outstanding Learners Award representing our country, Myanmar.
  • In June 2019, MIC had proudly participated, as a Gold Sponsor, in Myanmar Leadership Conference 2019 that was led by globally-renowned Marketing Guru, Dr. John C Maxwell.
  • In October 2019, MIC had honorably taken part, as an academic partner, in World Marketing Summit Myanmar 2019 that was led by Professor Dr. Philip Kotler.
  • In October 2019, MIC had expanded the range of our programmes by launching Executive Diploma Programmes inclusive of Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, Diploma in Strategic Marketing and Brand Management, Diploma in Operations and Project Management, and Diploma in Business Research in strategic collaboration with our main academic partner, the University of Northampton (UK).
  • In January 2020, MIC had proudly commenced the “Dreams, Success and Opportunities” Education Seminar to support the youths in achieving their dreams and success to come true.
  • In February 2020, MIC Futsal Club achieved the 4th consecutive MMF Myanmar Futsal League title.
  • In May 2020, MIC had proudly commenced the “MIC Free Online Classroom for Dreams and Success” to support the youths in achieving their dreams and success to come true.
  • In May 2020, MIC’s student had achieved the Bronze Certificate at BTEC Business and Enterprise Student of the Year 2020 for International Pearson Outstanding Learners Award proudly representing our country, Myanmar.
  • In May 2020, MIC had commenced the “MIC 2-Month Intensive Assignment Writing & Academic Writing Programme”.
  • In August 2020, MIC had proudly organized the “Youths, Dreams and Education” Education Seminar to support and aid upon our youths in the society and country for their brightest dreams and success to come true.
